Start by exfoliating your skin a day or two before your spray tan appointment. This helps to remove dead skin cells, ensuring an even application and longer-lasting tan. Pay extra attention to rough areas like elbows, knees, and ankles.
Avoid wearing makeup, lotions, or deodorants to your appointment, as these can create a barrier that affects the tan's absorption. If you must wear deodorant, you’ll need to wash this off before your tan. Beware that some of the 24 hour deodorants are much harder to remove and this may effect your tan result and leave patches.
Opt for loose, dark-coloured clothing to wear after your spray tan to prevent any rubbing or smudging. Tight clothing can also cause uneven colour development. Bring flip-flops or loose shoes to wear after your spray tan to avoid rubbing off the solution on your feet. We’ll provide you with a disposable g-string to wear during your tan and you can wear this home while the tan is drying.
Plan your activities after the spray tan accordingly. Most clients go straight home in order for their tan to dry after the session to allow the tan to develop properly. Trust us, you won’t feel like hitting the mall or going out in public before you wash your tan off!
Listen to and follow any aftercare instructions provided by your spray tan technician. This may include when to shower (we’ll text this to you so that you don’t forget), what type of soap to use, towel drying, what to avoid (chorine), and how to moisturize to maintain your tan.
Bring an umbrella, so the rain doesn’t drop onto your tan.
If you plan to shave or wax, do so at least 24 hours before your spray tan. This allows time for your pores to close, reducing the chance of any irritation or uneven colour.
Hydrate your skin in the days leading up to your spray tan. This will help your tan last longer. BUT, be sure not to apply any products to your skin of the day of your tan, as this will block the tan from absorbing into your skin
If you have long hair, tie it up to keep it away from your neck and shoulders during the spray tan application.
Some clients like to shower right before their tan, however it’s best to shower a few hours before hand if possible, rather than just before, as your skin has natural oils that are helpful for your tan.

While there is generally no conclusive evidence to suggest that spray tanning is harmful during pregnancy, it's recommended to consult with your healthcare provider before getting a spray tan while pregnant so you can make your decision. If you receive the green light from your healthcare provider and decide to get a spray tan, make sure to inform the technician about your pregnancy so they can take appropriate precautions and address any specific concerns you may have, such as nipple covers if you are breastfeeding, fast application, appropriate ventilation, or face covering.
Several medications can potentially influence spray tanning results due to their impact on skin characteristics. These medications may affect factors such as skin texture, oil production, and the way the skin reacts to the tanning solution. Here are some types of medications that may have an impact:
It's important to note that individual responses to spray tanning can vary, and the potential impact of medications may differ from person to person. If you are on medication and considering spray tanning, it's recommended to consult with your healthcare provider. They can provide personalised advice based on your medical history and the specific medications you are taking. Additionally, informing the spray tan technician about any medications or health concerns is crucial, as they can take appropriate precautions and adjust the tanning process accordingly. We also want to manage your expectations on the result of the tan outcome and length of the tan.

This should be fine and is usually not an issue. Although we recommend that you don't shave, it's just to ensure your tan is even. When you shave, your pores open, so before you wash your tan, you might have dots where your tan has dried into the open pores. Shaving can also make the skin more sensitive, and applying a tanning solution to freshly shaved skin may cause irritation or discomfort.
No. This should wash off easily, as long as you don't leave it too long. You shouldn't be sleeping with your tan on, as all of our tans are rapid 2 hour solutions. Your tan will continue to develop on your skin after it's been rinsed off.
Neither do we! Tanning solutions have come a long way. The technology and development of tanning solutions nowadays are designed for a natural look. Your tanning technician will also discuss the level of tan desired so we can control the level of tanning that you'd prefer.
